Pamela Anne Barakat trained as an actress at Ensemble Studios. She has performed extensively as an actor, singer and children’s entertainer for over ten years. Fairytale Theatre is her latest venture, and brings together many of her previous creative endeavours into one vibrant, new theatre company, with a strong focus on getting people involved in the joyous world of the imagination!
Pamela Anne has performed under the banners of The Star Fairies, and Children’s Creative Works. She is known all over Sydney for her funny interactive magic and puppet shows for pre-schools, and for her performances at parties and corporate events. These include many performances for charities and fundraisers including Down Syndrome Australia and Bear Cottage.
Pamela Anne has been running the KindiDrama programme for a number of years with great success, and it is the KindiDrama programme that forms the basis for Fairytale Theatre.
The programme was created while working with children in school and pre-schools, and Pamela Anne has seen it grow and evolve over time into the effective and enjoyable program it is today. The programme is unique in its flexibility and has a long and happy history. Many of the previous participants in these workshops have sought to do further programmes and workshops, and Pamela Anne is happy to tailor these to the needs and interests of the children involved.
Pamela Anne also writes and creates many of the Bud and Blossom pantomimes. These have been performed for enthusiastic audiences in a variety of venues and the memorable characters and catchy songs have left a lasting impression. She believes that positive messages are important, and that musical theatre is a fun and interactive way of sharing positivity and joy.
The aim of Fairytale Theatre is to encourage children to let their light shine. It never ceases to amaze or delight Pamela just how quickly a child can become totally engaged in the world of their imagination, no matter whether part of a drama workshop, or simply in the role of the birthday child on their special day.
Children lose their shyness and self consciousness and become so proud to become part of the storytelling, improvisation or activity.
If you want children to be intelligent, read them fairytales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairytales.
Fairytale Theatre plans and runs performances and workshops regularly. Please contact Pamela, and speak to her about how your child can be involved.
